Alergias, nuevas formas de inmunoterapia y bases inmunológicas
El grupo está formado por el Departamento de Alergología de la Clínica Universidad de Navarra y el Servicio de Alergología del Hospital Universitario de Navarra. El primero se caracteriza por haber sido uno de los pioneros en la especialidad en nuestro país, desarrollando desde su inicio una actividad docente asistencial e investigadora. Diseñó e investigó algunas técnicas diagnósticas siendo la más importante el test de activación basófilos que posteriormente ha tenido mucho impacto en el diagnóstico alergológico. Su investigación se ha centrado en las vías de regulación de IgE, activación y marcadores de basófilos, fisiopatología de la urticaria y el angioedema y, en estos últimos años, hemos desarrollado líneas de investigación en nuevas formas farmacéuticas de inmunoterapia, y dispositivos y software para el diagnóstico de enfermedades alérgicas.
Por su parte, el servicio de Alergología del Hospital Universitario ha seguido una línea de investigación en asma grave y validación de nuevas pautas de inmunoterapia.
